José A. Rosado-Toro

Jose is currently a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department, at The University of Arizona. He earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, in June 2006.

Before joining his Ph.D., he was an systems engineer at Raytheon, Tucson, from 2006 to 2010.

His research interests are towards object detection, segmentation & classification, and image based registration algorithms. He is also interested in the area of image compression.

Sundaresh Ram

Sundaresh is currently a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department, at The University of Arizona. He received a B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, India in 2007 and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Arizona, in 2010.

His research interests include statistical signal processing, image and video processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, and compressed sensing. He has made contributions to the field in areas of image segmentation and classification, object detection and recognition.

Currently he is working on space-time super-resolution of video sequences. He is also working on automatic object detection and robust object tracking of non-rigid objects.

Ding Ding

Ding Ding is currently a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department, at The University of Arizona. She received a B.S. in Electronic Information Engineering from Hefei University of Technology, Hefei, China in 2010.

Her research interests include signal processing, image analysis, image inpainting, image restoration and seam carving. She is Currently working on examplar based image inpainting for removal of large unwanted objects from digital images and replacing them with visually plausible backgrounds.

Ramaprasad Kulkarni

Ramaprasad is currently a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department at The University of Arizona. He received a B.E. in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Amrita Institute of Technology and Science (now Amrita School of Engineering), Bangalore, India affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, India in 2007 and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Arizona, in 2010. He was employed at Hewlett Packard India from 2007 - 2009 during which his job included installation and support of servers, storage and software for enterprise customers.

His research interests include image analysis, computer vision, parallel programming and high performance computing. Currently he is involved with image segmentation and analysis of X-ray CT images of porous media images, and parallel programming and high performance computing applied to image analysis algorithms.

Xin Gao

Xin Gao is currently a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department, at The University of Arizona. Xin received a bachelor's degree with distinctions in electrical engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), China in June 2008 and a M.S. degree in electrical engineering from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Minneapolis in July 2011.

From October 2007 to August 2009, he was a research assistant in Department of Electronic Engineering, NUAA. From January 2010 to May 2011, he served as teaching assistants in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Minnesota. His research interests mainly include statistical signal processing, image analysis algorithms on vehicle tracking and detection, as well as motional object detection and data (image and video) recovery in intelligent transportation systems.

He is currently working on a image analysis project for vehicle tracking and object detection.

Rohit Chacko Philip

Rohit is currently a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department, at The University of Arizona. He earned his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Arizona, in 2008 having previously graduated with his B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai, India in 2005.

Rohit then worked for the Arizona Cancer Center as an Assistant Research Engineer working on Image Processing techniques to aid cancer research.

His research interests include medical imaging, automated segmentation problems, object detection and tracking, image registration, digital signal processing and communication systems.

Basel Salahieh

Graduate Research Assistant

Basel is currently a Ph.D. student with major in ECE and minor in optics, at the University of Arizona. He received his M.S. in ECE from University of Oklahoma, USA in 2010 and his B.S. in communication engineering from University of Aleppo, Syria in 2007.

His research interests include compressive light field imaging, feature specific imaging, spectral imaging, optical information processing, volumetric displays, and medical imaging. Currently, his main focus is on computational light field imaging for medical applications.

Mohammed Fowzan Alfowzan

Graduate Research Assistant

Mohammed is currently a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department, at The University of Arizona. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2006. During 2006-2008 he was part of KACST electronics communications and photonics department as a researcher. He was part of a software defined radio (SDR) development project. Mohammed has obtained his M.S. Degree in electrical engineering from University of Southern California in 2010.

His current research interest deals with physical layer signal processing for wireless systems. Ongoing research focuses on development of detection algorithms for optical wireless channels. In addition, designing coded modulation techniques for different wireless channels.

Ramya Malladi

Graduate Research Assistant

Ramya is currently an M.S. student in the ECE Department, at The University of Arizona. She received her B.S. in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Jawarlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India in 2012.

Her research interests include signal processing, video processing, image segmentation and pattern classification. Her current research involves segmentation and classification of rock images.

Douglas Wallace Todd

Graduate Research Assistant

Doug is currently working on his M.S. in Electrical engineering at The University of Arizona. He received his B.S. in computer engineering from University of Arizona, in 2005. His interests focus on detection, estimation and classification. He is currently working on cancer identification and classification. Other detection and estimation activities include target identification self navigation of robots.

Before joining for his MS, he worked at Raytheon, Tucson AZ from 2005 to 2013 in RF and Signal processing.
