Biography

Michael E. Gehm is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with a joint appointment in the College of Optical Sciences.  At the UA, he directs the Laboratory for Engineering Non-traditional Sensors (LENS).  Prior to arriving at the UA, he was a Research Assistant Professor in the Duke University ECE department.  He received M.S. and Ph.D degrees in physics from Duke University in 1998 and 2003, respectively and a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Washington University (St. Louis) in 1992.  From 1992 to 1995 he was a staff engineer with SPARTA, inc. He is a member of the OSA, APS, and IEEE.
