Gokhan Calis received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2011 and 2013, respectively. During his M.S. he worked under the guidance of his advisor, Dr. Nail Akar. Since August 2013, he has been a Ph.D. fellow and Graduate Research Assistant at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The University of Arizona. He is currently working under supervision of Dr. O. Ozan Koyluoglu in the Laboratory for Information Processing Systems . His current research interests are in the areas of information and coding theory, coding for distributed storage systems, machine learning, computer network analysis, and wireless communication.
